Zheng Li was born in 1964 in Zhenhai, Ningbo . He graduated from Landscape Painting Major of Chinese Painting Department of Zhejiang Institute of Fine Arts in Hangzhou , China , getting his art bachelor's degree. In 2000, he began his postgraduate study in Landscape Painting Major, Chinese Painting Department, China Institute of Fine Arts. From 1994 till now, he has been an assistant professor in Landscape Painting Major, Chinese Painting Department, China Institute of Fine Arts. Besides that, he has been a member of China Artists Association and a member of Zhenjiang Artists Association. His works were selected to Exhibition of Chinese Painting within 100 years . His work Literary Family received the gold prize in the 9 th National Arts Exhibition . He has published four kinds of personal arts volumes. In 2003, he attended Oriental Charm hosted by Ministry of Culture and Chinese Painting Research Institute.
