Yu Xining was born in 1913 in Weifang , Shandong . Now he is a trustee of China Artists Association, the honorary president of Shandong Artists Association, a professor and honorary president of Shandong Arts College . In his early years, he had studied in Shanghai Arts College , and had benefited a lot under the supervision of famous artists Huang Binhong, Pan Tianshou, Yu Jianhua, etc. He and famous flowers and birds painter Guo Weiqu are fellow townsmen and close friends. In his middle age, he applied himself to learn the excellence of many famous artists as Chen Baiyang, Xu Qingteng, Ren Bonian, and Wu Changshuo in Ming Dynasty. In his late years, he is fond of painting plum blossoms with his extraordinary conception and painting skills .
