Wu Yi, born in 1966 in Changchun , Jilin , was admitted to Chinese Painting Department of China Central Institute of Fine Arts and graduated in 1989, getting his bachelor's degree. In the same year, he did some teaching in Lu Xun Institute of Fine Arts. In 1991, he passed the entrance exam for postgraduates and became a student of Professor Lu Chen of China Central Institute of Fine Arts. In 1993, he graduated, getting his master's degree, and held his first personal works exhibition. Now he is a lecturer in Mural Paintings Department of China Central Institute of Fine Arts.
