Dong Ze was born in Yinan , Shandong . He graduated from Arts and Crafts College of Shandong in Qingdao in 1977 and graduated from Beijing Art Academy in 1990. In 1987, he won the gold prize of Chinese Painting in The First Calligraphy and Painting Competition for Youth Home and Abroad in Shenzhen. He had held three personal art exhibitions in Beijing in 1988, 1989 and 2000. His master Mr. Shi Hu wrote a preface “Furor Painter Dong Ze” for the exhibitions. In 1989, he attended the Third International Ink Painting Exhibition held by World Art and Literary Circles in China Art Gallery . In 1992, Dong Ze Art Album was published and his master Mr. Zhou Sicong wrote the preface “Dong Ze's Art World” for the album. In 1993, he attended 1993 European Art Festival in Geneva . In 1994, he joined the delegation of 32 artists whose head is Yang Lizhou from the mainland to Taiwan for the first time and attended China Modern Ink Painting Works Exhibition and World Academic Seminar of China Modern Ink Painting. In the same year, he was awarded the gold prize of International Ink Painting Competition in Canada . In 1995 and 1996, he held “Dong Ze Image” painting works exhibition in China International Exhibition Center of Beijing. In 1996, he held Dong Ze Fine Arts Exhibition of Modern Ink Figure Paintings in Hong Kong and held Dong Ze Modern Ink Painting Works Exhibition in Berlin , Germany . In the same year, he was awarded Art Achievement Gold Prize by World Celebrity Biography Research Institute of U.S.A. Also in this year, his book Dong Ze Image of deluxe volume in octavo pages was published, and his masters Zhou Shaohua, Lu Chen, Shi Qi, Jia Haoyi and Yang Gang subscribed mottos on the book. In 1997, he held Dong Ze Modern Ink Painting Exhibition in Tianjin . In 1999, he attended National Famous Artists Modern Ink Painting Works Tour Exhibition. In 2000, he attended Century Painting Works Exhibition of Famous Chinese Painting Artists in Shantou and attended international art fairs in Beijing , Shanghai and Guangzhou . In the same year, he joined Zero school of painting and his woks collection was published. In 2000, Kechuang Art Circles held Dong Ze Ink Painting Works Exhibition. In 2001, he attended Kechuang Ink Human Body Painting Works Exhibition, China Art Fair of Beijing and Modern Ink Painters Nomination Exhibition of Zero School of Painting. In 2001, he held Dong Ze Modern Abstract Ink Paintings Show in Forever Art Gallery of Frankford, Germany. In 2002, Dong Ze Modern Abstract Ink Painting Works Collection was published by International Cultural Publishing Corporation and his master Mr. Shi Hu wrote a short passage “Send Words to Dong Ze” for his collection.
